Nutrition FAQs

Common Questions

  • Do you take insurance?
I am happy to provide you with a bill that you can submit to your insurance company. Check with your insurance company to see if your policy covers nutrition counseling.
  • Do you sell meal plans?
Each person has different nutritional needs, so each nutrition plan is custom tailored for you as an individual. It takes into consideration your time constraints, food preferences, health issues and concerns, and other factors unique to you. This is why personal nutrition counseling is so powerful and so effective.
  • Can we mix and match phone and in person sessions?
    Yes
  • Will you send me and/or my doctor notes from our sessions?
Absolutely, if you provide your permission I will update your physician on our projected goals, your progress at each step, and how we are going to improve your health.
  • Are our sessions confidential?
100%. I will only release information about what we discuss if you want me to and give me permission to do so.
  • What’s the difference between a nutritionist and a dietician?
A Registered Dietician (RD) has completed a Bachelor’s degree and passed the exam by the American Dietetics Association. A Board Certified Nutritionist (CNS) has a minimum of a Masters degree in nutrition from a fully accredited University and has passed the Board exam created by the American College of Nutrition. Both have to complete internships before getting certified.
  • I’m frustrated because no diets seem to work for me in the past so how do I know that your plan will work for me?
When we use science and evidence-based nutrition tailored to create a personalized plan we can find solutions to what is not working and keep fine tuning the plan until you get the results you want. We will support you in your efforts and if you put our recommendations into practice, you will definitely make progress.
